Are you passionate about making Lake Oswego a city where everyone feels they belong, are welcomed, and valued? Your voice is needed! We're seeking new board members to lead initiatives that foster a diverse and inclusive community. Apply below. Board applications are due on Friday, August 9, 2024.

Who can apply

  • Individuals who live, work, or attend school in Lake Oswego 

  • Must be at least 16 years old 

  • Willing to commit to a 2-year term (1-year term for students) 

Board applications are due on August 9, with interviews taking place shortly after. Term begins September 2024.

All are encouraged to apply, but the following are open board roles:

  • Fundraising Lead: Spearhead efforts to secure financial resources through grants, individual donations and community events, cultivating relationships with donors and sponsors to ensure sustainable funding for LO for LOve.

  • City Liaison / Lead: Stay informed about DEI issues in Lake Oswego, monitor City Council and DEI Advisory Board activities, share findings at monthly board meetings and organize volunteers for relevant initiatives.

  • School District Liaison / Lead: Stay informed about DEI issues in the Lake Oswego School District (LOSD), including the LOSD school board, by engaging with board members and DEI related staff and committees, reviewing meeting agendas, attending or listening to relevant meetings, and sharing findings to guide LO for LOve initiatives.

  • Community Outreach Lead: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key local organizations like Respond to Racism, Lake Oswego Public Library, LOSD, student groups, faith-based groups and the City, while actively seeking new partnerships with groups that align with LO for LOve's mission.

  • Civic Engagement Lead: Drive election-related initiatives for Lake Oswego and Clackamas County, organizing candidate forums and civic education initiatives and coordinating voter registration and get-out-the-vote efforts to increase community participation in local, state and national elections.

Please note that all board roles are open for consideration. Applicants do not need to apply for a specific role. 

During the interview process, we will assess your skills, experience, and interests to determine the best fit for you within our organization. We encourage all interested individuals to apply, regardless of which specific role you think you might be best suited for.
