Are you passionate about making Lake Oswego a city where everyone feels they belong, are welcomed, and valued? Your voice is needed! We're seeking new board members to help plan Lake Oswego's annual Pride Festival, advocate for inclusion in our schools and city, and support a growing range of community initiatives. Who can apply:
-Individuals who live, work, or attend school in Lake Oswego
-Must be at least 16 years old
-Must be able to attend monthly board meetings, the third Wednesday of the month 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., and committee meetings as applicable.
-Must serve as lead or co-lead for at least one initiative (e.g. outreach event, call to action/testimony, community event)
-Must be able to volunteer at 2-3 events a year (e.g. Pride LO, AANHPI, Juneteenth, candidate forum, etc, etc.)
-Willing to commit to a 2-year term (1-year term for students)
Open board positions:
Communications Lead — Oversee organizational communications including newsletter content, website updates, and public-facing materials such as press releases and letters to the editor.
Social Media Lead — Manage LO for LOve's presence on Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms. Create and schedule content, monitor engagement, and collaborate closely with the Communications Lead.
Fundraising Lead — Spearhead efforts to secure financial resources through grants, individual donations, and community events. Cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors to support LO for LOve's work.
Civic Engagement Lead — Drive election-related initiatives for Lake Oswego and Clackamas County, organizing candidate forums, civic education efforts, and voter registration and get-out-the-vote campaigns.
Pride Sponsorship Lead — Work in conjunction with the Fundraising Lead to identify and secure sponsors for the annual Pride Festival, building relationships with businesses and organizations that want to support the event.
Pride Business Engagement Lead — Partner with the Pride Sponsorship Lead to encourage local businesses and community groups to show their support for Pride beyond the festival itself — from hosting movie nights and community events to other creative expressions of allyship throughout the month.
Student Board Member — Participate in board meetings and share student perspectives on issues relevant to LO for LOve’s work.

All board roles are open for consideration — you don't need to apply for a specific position. During the interview process, we'll assess your skills, experience, and interests to find the best fit. We encourage everyone to apply.
Board applications are due August 1, 2026, with interviews taking place shortly after. The new term begins September 2026.
